The pace of life in Scotland tends to be relaxed where even in the cities locals are often happy to chat to pass the time of day. The architecture and landscape in Scotland is very different to that of England. Scotland offers mountains, wild landscapes, glistening stone buildings and solitude in places. Particularly if you head for the North of Scotland or the Highlands and Islands it is possible to find a beaches where you can enjoy walking alone with just the sea gulls for company.

Wales is a small country, attached to England and well worth a visit if you are visiting England or indeed for a visit to Wales itself. Wales is known for the mountainous area of Snowdonia, the Brecon Beacons and the beautiful Pembrokeshire coastline, all of which are national parks. Many head to Wales for some countryside and a taste of the quiet life. There are many picturesque towns and villages to explore whilst enjoying a cottage holiday and Wales has a beautiful coastline.

Many will know that Ireland is known affectionately as the Emerald Isle due to its beautiful green countryside. The countryside in Ireland is indeed beautiful and there is much to explore. The large cities of Belfast and Dublin have a somewhat European feel and there should be something to interest everyone. There are many small villages and towns to discover and an interesting coastline.
